The #borntohustle mentality that sets a great agent apart from a good one is hardwired right into Paul Caparas’ DNA — and it’s a character trait that goes back long before you might have seen him on House Hunters. The born-and-raised San Diegan is naturally business-minded and has been since childhood. He was the kid with the booming lemonade stand, the one collecting and trading baseball cards with panache, and an early leader. Those built-in attributes flowed seamlessly into a real estate career that began in 2003, when he was just 22.

 

Since then, Caparas has worked through both a real estate boom and a market crash in practically every aspect of the business — traditional sales, short sales, foreclosures, flipped homes, investment properties, and more. He has also been ranked in the top 5% of San Diego agents by sales volume since 2016. And yes, he’s earned a bit of national screen time along the way, as he has been featured on HGTV’s aforementioned popular show, House Hunters, multiple times. Throughout his career, he has also been the recipient of San Diego Magazine’s Five Star Professional award for 14 consecutive years, San Diego Association of Realtors® Circle of Excellence’s 40 Under 40 Award, Trulia’s Top Agent Award, and a two-time finalist for The San Diego Union Tribune’s Best Real Estate Agent selections.

 

However, beyond his experience, skill set, and unmatched San Diego knowledge as a lifetime resident, it’s his relationships that, to Caparas, form the foundation of his work and have contributed the most toward his success. Caparas prides himself on his integrity, as well as on his deep understanding and empathy for a purchase or sale that may be the most important one of his clients’ lives. As a result, he has a wide network and an array of repeat clients that he values, many of whom have become friends. Away from the office, Caparas loves sports like basketball, football and golf; catch him also exploring the West Coast’s national parks, traveling with his son and wife, or volunteering for several nonprofits and charities, including San Diego Toys for Tots and Feeding America San Diego, an organization he’s worked with since 2013.
